Halloween Safety Tips
- Map out your route so that an adult may know where you are at all times.
- Do not enter a stranger's house. Accept treats only at the door.
- Use face paint instead of masks, which will limit visibility.
- So that drivers can easily see you, wear light-colored clothing, and use reflective tape on clothing and props, including bikes, skateboards, and brooms.
-
Walk on the sidewalks and not in the street.
- Look both ways before crossing the street, and only cross from the corner.
- Be aware that Wigs, capes and costumes are flammable attire. Avoid open flames.
-
Use a glow stick instead of a candle in your jack-o-lanterns to prevent a fire hazard.
-
Be careful of moving vehicles, and don't hide between or behind parked car.
- Only visit homes that have their lights on, and do not walk through the lawn.
- Be cautious around strange animals, especially dogs.
- An adult should inspect candy when children are done trick-or-treating. Throw away any open packages and choking hazards.
