| PITTSBURGH, PA - At a free public event, six spiritual presenters will discuss how faith practices can be used to gain hope, courage and healing from the events of September 11.
The program - called "Strength and Hope" - is 'part-lecture, part-workshop', and will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 7:30 - 9 p.m. at East Liberty Presbyterian Church, East Liberty.
It is open to any citizen who would like to gain better understanding into the use of faith practices and feel they would benefit spiritually. Speakers represent various faiths and include the following participants:
Dr. Martha Robbins, Joe Marshall Associate Professor of Pastoral Care and Psychology, Pittsburgh Theological Seminary
Rabbi James A. Gibson, Temple Sinai
Dr. Abdul Mawgoud, Islamic Center of Pittsburgh
Sister Patricia Cairns, CSJ, Executive Director, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Pittsburgh
Rev. Kyoki Roberts, Head Priest, Zen Center of Pittsburgh
The Rev. Richard E. Otty, Interim Pastor, East Liberty Presbyterian Church
"Strength and Hope" was coordinated by American Red Cross and hosted by the East Liberty Presbyterian Church with input from Pittsburgh area faith communities.
